The core aspects of Stephanie Huellmann´s art is transition as well as appreciation through attentiveness. In her explorations of these themes repetition is her most powerful tool. By arranging up to thousands of seemingly identical objects the smallest manifestations of transition become visible. Pieces from nature as well as handmade things and materials that at first sight all look alike turn into individuals – with far-reaching consequences. Her technique of choice, sewing, reflects on the time that lies at the base of all change and at the same time gives respect to nature and things that might be easily overlooked. Her drawings resonate with the focus of her assemblages.
